CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — Frigid temperatures and a budding snowstorm greeted Cal State Bakersfield as it shuffled into Cedar Falls. Northern Iowa and Mother Nature’s Midwest department rolled out the red carpet for the West Coast visitors.
The Panthers made sure Bakersfield’s stay was a little more unpleasant.
A futile opening period gave way to a more rhythmic second half offensively — and the UNI did its thing on defense. Blend those ingredients together as you get the Panthers’ 67-55 over the Roadrunners Wednesday night at the McLeod Center. The victory marks the first time UNI (3-0) has started a year with three straight Division I wins since 2014.
