CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — Spencer Haldeman pumped a fist full of frustration and added an emphatic yell for good measure. They say confidence is contagious — well, so is futility.
So when Haldeman’s second-half trey finally fluttered through to halt a lengthy downtown drought, Northern Iowa’s redshirt senior guard couldn’t help but let the emotions flow. A night to forget from deep wasn't becoming a night to forget altogether.
'I was like, 'Finally,'" Haldeman said with a wide smile, "'I got one to go.'"
The Panthers missed 25 threes, as well as 10 free throws, but tightened up defensively throughout and into winning time.
