CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — A rare postgame intersection put Ben Jacobson and Dan Muller together in the media room. The Northern Iowa head coach was wrapping up presser when Illinois State’s head man walked in.
“I bet you’ve got some questions Dan,” Jacobson joked.
Yeah, AJ Green — how do you stop him?” Muller quipped back.
Right now, no one has an answer.
Another methodical offensive show pushed Green into the 1,000-point club and UNI over the top against Illinois State on Wednesday evening with a 71-63 victory at the McLeod Center.
On a night where the Redbirds (8-17, 3-10 Missouri Valley Conference) buried a litany of treys to stay within reach much longer than expected, the Panthers (22-3, 11-2) leaned on Green to carry them home.
