CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Trevor Penning is the first Panther of the season to be named the Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Lineman of the year.
His performance Saturday helped UNI football top No. 6 South Dakota State. The Panthers notched 16 first downs. UNI had 103 rushing yards, compared to SDSU's 60 yards. UNI added 232 in passing yards. The UNI offense allowed for wide receiver Isaiah Weston to have a 125-yard receiving game.
UNI converted on four third-down attempts and recorded more than 34 minutes of possession.
Penning, a 6-foot, 7-inch, 320-pound offensive lineman, played and started five games at left tackle and one at right tackle in the spring of 2021.
