DUBUQUE, Iowa – Three UNI wrestlers earned titles and four more medaled today at the Pat Flanagan Open.
Jay Schwarm, Taylor Lujan and JJ Everard all won their weight classes.
At 125 pounds, Schwarm not only won the title, but he earned the fastest tech fall of the tournament with his 16-0 win over Ryan Schmalen of Upper Iowa in 2 minutes, 11 seconds. He also notched two major decisions and a decision.
It was Lujan's fourth medal of the year at 174 pounds. He has placed in four of the five tournaments he has competed in this season.
