COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Three former Panthers will be competing this week for a shot at qualifying for the 2017 U.S. World Team Trials.
Former All-Americans Joey Lazor and Joe Colon will join Blaize Cabell at the Dave Schultz Memorial International Wrestling Championships set for Feb. 1-3 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
All three will be competing in the freestyle division. Colon is set to compete at 57K. Lazor will be in the 61K weight class, and Cabell will weigh in for the 97K competition.
Wrestlers from Argentina, Bulgaria, Israel, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, South Africa, Switzerland, Ukraine and Uzbekistan are expected to compete.
