ST LOUIS -- Two members of the UNI softball team have been honored by the Missouri Valley Conference for their play in the opening weekend of conference action.
Tuesday afternoon the MVC named redshirt-junior Kamryn Shaffer as their softball Player of the Week while freshman Mya Dodge was honored as Newcomer of the Week for the second time this season. Over the weekend the Panthers swept Southern Illinois in a three game series to open MVC play.
After a slow offensive start to the season, clean-up batter Kamryn Shaffer broke out in a big way.
