FRISCO, Texas – Defensive end Karter Schult has been named the FCS STATS Buck Buchanan Award Winner, it was announced this evening.
Schult becomes the first player in UNI history to win the Buck Buchanan Award, given to the absolute best defensive player in FCS football. He is also the fourth student-athlete from the Missouri Valley Football Conference to receive the award.
Schult, who was one of three finalists, led all of Division I football in quarterback sacks during the regular season, racking up 17.0. He set a new UNI record for tackles for loss in a season with 24.
