Tucson, Ariz. – The Panthers go 1-1 on the second day of the Hillenbrand Invitational.
GAME 1 | UNI 13, Bryant 5
UNI took a 6-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed from there on the way to a 13-5 win over the Bryant Bulldogs on Saturday.
Freshman Samantha Heyer (2-4) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for UNI (4-5). The right-hander went 2.1 shutout innings while giving up three hits, allowing one walk and striking out three.
Offensively, the Panthers were led by junior Emma Valainis, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a home run, a walk and three RBIs.
