NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State's Tete Maggett hit a pair of free throws before a jumper by UNI's Karli Rucker missed the mark in the final seconds to see ISU pull out a 66-64 win over UNI in women's basketball action Friday at Redbird Arena.
The Panthers led for most of the game, and led 57-48 with 8:17 remaining in the game before Illinois State went on a 14-2 run to take a 62-59 lead with 4:12 left to play.
The Panther regained a 64-62 lead with 3:28 to play. ISU tied the game on the ensuing possession then both teams went ice cold over the final 3:10 of the game with the only points coming from Meggett's free throws with 29 seconds left on the clock.
