DES MOINES, Iowa - The Panther softball team took both games of the doubleheader against Drake on Tuesday. Northern Iowa took game one, 3-0 and grabbed game two after a hitting spree in the top of the sixth inning, 12-0.
GAME ONE
Starting pitcher for the University of Northern Iowa (25-15, 13-4 MVC) Jaclyn Spencer (11-6) pitched a shutout game against the Drake Bulldogs (20-24, 3-14 MVC). She held the opposing team to only five hits for the entire game.
Both teams were feeling each other out to start the match as they were both scoreless for the first two innings.
