Cedar Falls, Iowa – UNI softball finished 1-1 on day one of the Doc Halverson UNI-Dome Classic, beating Butler 6-5 and falling to Iowa State 12-2.

The Panthers scored six runs as UNI beat the Bulldogs on Friday by a score of 6-5.
Sophomore Hannah Kelley (1-0) picked up the win for UNI after having to relieve Kailyn Packard. Kelley went four innings giving up four hits, one run, striking out five, and walking none.
On the offensive side the Panthers found a spark from Freshman Taylor Hogan, who went 2-4 and two runs.
