COLUMBIA, Missouri – The UNI softball team fell to the Cyclones of Iowa State 4-3 in the elimination game at the NCAA Regional on Saturday night.
The Cyclones got on the board first, going up 3-0 in the first inning. An early pitching change put Hailey Sanders in the circle for the Panthers. The freshman pitcher pitched 6 full innings, throwing 91 pitches with 6 strikeouts.
The Panthers scored their first run of the game in the bottom of the 6th inning when Kamryn Shaffer pierced a RBI double to center field, scoring Maddie Erpending.
