Ames, Iowa - The UNI soccer team traveled to Ames on Sunday afternoon for an in-state showdown against Iowa State. The game concluded in a 0-0 tie following 2 overtime periods. The teams second consecutive 0-0 double overtime tie of the season.
It was a tough 110-minute battle for the Panthers and Cyclones. The Panthers were able to get five shots off in the second half against a strong Iowa State defense.
The Panther defense had another strong showing only allowing four shots on goal. Caitlin Richards gathered 3 saves in the first half, while Brittney Bentheimer was able to pick up the only shot on goal by the Cyclones in the second half.
