Panther men's basketball rallies for road win at UIC

CHICAGO --- UNI men's basketball rallied from down as many as 16 points to beat the UIC Flames in Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) play on Saturday afternoon at Credit Union 1 Arena, 78-72. The victory marks UNI's first road win against the Flames since Jan. 28, 1989 when the Panthers and UIC were members of the Mid-Continent Conference.

UIC shot out of the gate with a strong performance from beyond the arc, hitting 8 three-point baskets in the first half, including three made shots by Jace Carter, and 7 assists by Tre Anderson. After having their interior game stifled early in the game and trailing by as many as 16 points, the Panthers used an 8-0 run in the middle of the half to cut into the Flames' lead while holding UIC scoreless on 5 straight possessions.
