CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — Spencer Brown sits at an outdoor table at Sidecar Coffee Shop in Cedar Falls, sipping on an iced latte when a car pulls up on the street out front. The car, which has the windows rolled down on a sunny early April day, slows for traffic.
As it nearly reaches a full stop, the person in the front passenger seat spots Brown and yells out to him to have a nice day. Brown, who watches it all unfold, only knows one of the occupants but sits back in his chair and smiles.
“That’s why you’ve got to love it,” Brown said of Cedar Falls.
