Northern Iowa's Wyatt Lohaus granted medical redshirt

After a frustrating season that saw Wyatt Lohaus spend most games in street clothes, some positive news has finally arrived.

The Northern Iowa guard, who played in just six games this past season and missed the final 20 thanks to a persistent ankle injury, has been granted a medical redshirt, UNI coach Ben Jacobson confirmed to The Register Thursday afternoon.

Lohaus will be a redshirt junior next season and has two years of eligibility remaining.

“We got everything sent in,” Jacobson said. “It has been approved and sent back from the (Missouri) Valley. So he has gotten approved, and he has gotten his year back.
