The departure of three seniors marks the end of an era for Northern Iowa men’s basketball.
Wes Washpun, Matt Bohannon and Paul Jesperson were part of a combined 54 victories the past two seasons — the best such stretch in school history — and back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.
They also experienced the extremes of March Madness, from Jesperson’s half-court shot to beat Texas in the first round to squandering a 12-point lead in the final 44 seconds of regulation against Texas A&M, just 48 hours later.
It’s doubtful any future class will provide a wider range of memories.
