TERRE HAUTE, Indiana – The University of Northern Iowa track and field program won nine events on Saturday, as the men took first at the Gibson Invitational to open the outdoor season on a high note.
Overall, UNI won 11 events on the weekend to dominate the field in Terre Haute. The men won the Gibson Invitational with 229.50 points, while the women placed third with 145 points.
Individually, Martavian Borseth (triple jump), Tom Yezek (discuss throw), Kyler Yodts (shot put), Isaiah Trousil (100, 200), Evan Long (400), Jacob Smith (400 hurdles) and Maddie Bell (200) all took first in their respective events on Saturday, while the team of Sven Van Den Bergh, Jojo Frost, Jacob Smith and Connor Blough won the 4x400.
