SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Evan Long ran a career-best 200-meter time of 20.77 to take fifth in his heat and earn a trip to Saturday's quarterfinals. The run was the highlight of the day for the Panthers which included three other Panther competing.
The day got off to a frustrating start with the 110-hurdles. Connor Ham struggling with an injury did not race. Cole Phillips started the race, but fell on the second hurdle and could not finish.
In the men's discus, Isaac Holtz finished 13th. He sat in 12th with just one throw remaining, but Kansas State's Brett Neelly jumped into ninth place with his final toss and pushed Holtz out of the top 12 and out of a trip to the NCAA National Championship in Austin, Texas.
