OSKALOOSA, Ia. — Northern Iowa assistant coach P.J. Hogan called Norwalk head boys' basketball coach Chris Larson on Wednesday.
They chatted about what had happened Tuesday night: Bowen Born, Larson's UNI-bound point guard, unleashed for a career-high 49 points in a 73-64 win over Iowa State-bound Xavier Foster and Oskaloosa.
They talked about how Born scored at will from all three levels.
How he blew past anyone trying to press him outside or drained 3-balls against anyone who didn't.
How he made all 15 of his free throws.
How he dropped floaters over, and finished layups around, Foster's 7-foot reach.
