EUGENE, ORE. – UNI shot-putter Darius King recorded a toss of 19.69m to place seventh overall and earn USTFCCCA First-Team All-American honors at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore. on Wednesday.
King's performance at the NCAA Championships closed out a strong outdoor season for the graduate student. On April 17, he set a new UNI outdoor shot put record, notching a personal-best of 20.14m at the Gibson Invitational. At the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships on May 14-16, King clinched the shot put title with a toss of 20.
