ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Darius King was named Missouri Valley Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week for a second consecutive week. King shattered the UNI school record in the outdoor men's shot put with a personal-best toss of 20.14m (66' 1") to place second at the Gibson Invitational, in Terre Haute, Ind. April 15-17. The previous record of 19.36m (63' 6.25") was set in 2016 by Justin Baker. King's toss put him in second in the nation in the men's shot put category.
King also posted a personal-best mark of 52.02m (170' 8") in the men's discus for a second-place finish and recorded a toss of 51.
