IOWA CITY – Darius King broke the school, meet and facility shot put record and jumped to the top spot in NCAA with a career-best throw of 19.58-meters (64-feet-3) and took first at the Jimmy Grant Invite hosted by the University of Iowa.
King's throw surpassed teammate Keegan Tritle's indoor school record of 19.08 meters that he recorded last season. He also broke the previous facility record of 19.40. He took first, but Tritle took second with a throw of 18.10-meters and William Blaser finished third with a throw of 17.
