Despite years of basketball affection and a hoops-heavy family, Jeremy Morgan has never attended an NBA game.
He hopes that changes soon, though. This week could provide the first spark.
After quality showings in various workouts and interviews over the last seven weeks, the former Northern Iowa standout has himself positioned as a potential late-second-round pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft. Morgan would be just the third Panther ever selected and first since Bill McCoy in 1973, per Basketball-Reference.
At least two prominent outlets have Morgan on the 60-pick board. ESPN’s Chad Ford mock draft from June 19 has the Boston Celtics taking the 6-foot-5 shooting guard with the 53rd overall selection, while Sporting News’ Sam Vecenie slotted Morgan 55th in his top-100 draft prospect rankings.
