Iowa State, Northern Iowa qualify for 64-team volleyball NCAA Tournament

Both Iowa State and Northern Iowa were named Sunday to the 64-team NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship field.

Iowa State opens play at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Minneapolis with a matchup against Creighton. A win would move the Cyclones to the second round and a clash with the winner of No. 7 Minnesota and Fairfield. The second round is slated to be played at 7 p.m. Saturday in Minneapolis.

Iowa State finished the regular season 17-11 (8-8 Big 12).

Northern Iowa will head west to Lincoln, Nebraska, for a first-round battle with Missouri.
