AMES — The Iowa State wrestling team won its seventh consecutive dual and ninth overall of the season Sunday, 26-9 over North Dakota State at Hilton Coliseum.
“We’re getting a little more savvy, and I like our progress,” Iowa State coach Kevin Dresser said. “Overall, there were some good things (Sunday).”
The Cyclones won eight of 10 matches to improve to 9-1 overall and 2-0 against Big 12 competition, but scored just one bonus-point victory, Marcus Coleman’s 16-0 technical fall over DJ Parker at 184 pounds.
David Carr, the No. 1-ranked 157-pounder in the country, continued his torrid run with a 7-3 win over seventh-ranked Jared Franek, scoring a pair of takedowns and piling up 2 minutes, 16 seconds of riding time.
