The Northern Iowa wrestling team took team pictures earlier this week, and Lance Runyon, a redshirt freshman, was so excited for the coming season that he tried on three different singlets.
Because why not, right?
“I’m super excited,” said Runyon, a 2019 state champion for Southeast Polk. “I’m ready to go, and I’m glad it’s finally here.”
Northern Iowa officially begins its 2021 season this weekend, with a Sunday tri-dual against South Dakota State and North Dakota State in Brookings, S.D. It will be the Panthers’ first competition in 308 days, the last being the 2020 Big 12 Championships in March.
