UNI is 2-1 on the year after a 20-10 win in a dominant defensive performance against No. 15 Illinois State. Another test awaits UNI in No. 10 Southern Illinois Saturday at 12 p.m. at Saluki Stadium in Carbondale.
• The Will McElvain and Tyler Hoosman scored touchdowns and the Panther defense held Illinois State to just three points as the Panthers earned a 20-10 win over the No. 15 Redbirds. The Panthers clinched the game with a fourth-quarter strip sack and touchdown on the ensuing possession. Spencer Cuvelier was named the MVFC Player of the Week.
