CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Former Panthers David Johnson and L.J. fort will start for their respective NFL teams this week while Daurice Fountain and Xavier Williams were assigned to practice squads after initial rosters were set last weekend.
Johnson is listed as the starter at running back after making his way to the Houston Texans in a blockbuster offseason trade. He enters his seventh season in the league and appears to be at full strength after dealing with injuries over the last few seasons.
The Texans open the season with a big test against the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, Thursday at 7:20 central.
