The state of Iowa will be well-represented at the 2020 Summer Paralympics.
Former Solon runner and current Northern Iowa sophomore Erin Kerkhoff has made the U.S. Paralympic roster, and will join Panthers teammate and Swisher native Jessica Heims in Tokyo. The games, which were postponed last summer by COVID-19, will run Aug. 24 through Sept. 5. Rosters were announced Thursday by the U.S. Paralympic Committee.
Kerkhoff will make her first Paralympics appearance after entering competition this summer. She is ranked fifth in the world in the T13 400-meter dash after her personal-best time of 58.23 seconds at the trials last weekend in Minneapolis.
