Drew Tate made his mark as a quarterback in black and gold, morphing into one of Iowa's most noteworthy names under center. Now, Tate is coming back to the state where he's most beloved — just in a different color scheme.
Tate has been hired as the quarterbacks coach at Northern Iowa, joining Mark Farley's staff after another offseason of turnover. Tate replaces former QB coach/offensive coordinator Shawn Watson, who took the OC job at Wofford in mid-January.
Tate's personal Twitter account has already gotten a proper makeover, with the UNI logo as his profile picture and the UNI-Dome as his header photo.
