Drake-UNI men's basketball postponed because of positive COVID-19 tests in Bulldogs' program

A marquee in-state men's college basketball game has been postponed.

Drake's Jan. 21 game at Northern Iowa, always an entertaining clash between the state's two mid-major programs, has been postponed because of positive COVID-19 tests in the Bulldogs' program, Drake announced Tuesday.

The Bulldogs' two-game series against Loyola Chicago (Jan. 10-11) and at Missouri State (Jan. 17-18) were also previously postponed for the same reason.

Drake announced the positive test or tests were among Tier 1 personnel, which includes student-athletes, coaches, managers and staff.

The Missouri Valley Conference will announce make-up dates for the postponed games at a later date.
