COLLEGE STATION, Tex. – UNI graduate student Darius King punched his ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Wednesday as he opened competition for the Panthers in the men's shot put at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in College Station, Tex.
Posting an opening toss of 19.47m, King recorded a scratch on his second throw. The Moline, Ill. native hit a mark of 20.08m on his final toss, which landed him in fourth place overall. King's final toss, which was 0.06m from his personal best and UNI record (20.14m), also tied the mark that earned him gold and all-conference honors at the Missouri Valley Championships on May 15.
