NEW ORLEANS, La. – Senior Brandon Carnes was honored today by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association be being named the Division I Midwest Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year.
The regional award comes on the heels of Carnes repeating his individual championships in the 60 meter and 200 meter dashes, becoming the first athlete in Missouri Valley Conference to win both the 60 and 200 four consecutive years.
The Bradenton, Fla. native earned the MVC Most Outstanding Track Athlete honor for the second year in a row at the championship meet, earning his 13th and 14th MVC individual titles.
