TULSA, Okla.— UNI wrestling punched tickets for its first two NCAA qualifiers in the opening session of the Big 12 Championships on Saturday.
Kyle Biscoglia secured his spot in the semifinals at 133 pounds with a quarterfinal win over South Dakota State's Derrick Cardinal in a 12-2 major decision. Biscoglia qualifies for the NCAA Championships for the second time in his career after finishing as the Big 12's runner-up last season. Biscoglia will take on third-seeded Zach Redding of Iowa State this evening in the semifinal round.
Colin Realbuto also earned his second automatic NCAA berth at 141 pounds after a pair of opening session wins on Saturday, defeating South Dakota State's Alek Martin in an 8-2 decision, before taking down seventh-seeded Chris Sandoval (Northern Colorado) in a 16-1 major decision.
