University of Northern Iowa senior Maddie Bertsch has been named the Missouri Valley Conference's Co-Golfer of the Week for her performance at the Jackrabbit Invitational. Bertsch shared the honor with Illinois State's Caitlin Sims.
Bertsch (Robins, Iowa/Cedar Rapids Xavier HS) tied for fifth overall at the Jackrabbit Invite held at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada. Bertsch carded a final round 68 that included a career-best seven birdies. Bertsch recorded a double-bogey on her opening hole and then played the final 17 holes in 6-under par to post a career-low collegiate round. Bertsch's previous career-low round came last season when she fired a 71 at the Bradley Spring Invitational.
