ST. LOUIS — As one-sided as last Saturday’s result was inside the Knapp Center, one had to figure Drake and Northern Iowa would regress back toward the mean in round three. Two programs that know each other well — meeting for a third time in less than a month — things were bound to even out.
But this? Few could’ve predicted this.
The pressure mounted for the top-seeded Panthers, while those in blue played easy and free for the bulk of 40 minutes. Drake’s emphatic first half provided enough room to hold off UNI’s inevitable charge.
