ST. LOUIS --- The Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) announced Scholar-Athlete honors on Thursday morning prior to the start of the 2022 conference men's basketball tournament. UNI's AJ Green was selected as the league's co-recipient of the Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award, sharing the honor with Southern Illinois' Marcus Domask. Nate Heise also received recognition as a Second Team Scholar-Athlete selection.
The criteria for the MVC's Scholar-Athlete Team voting parallels that of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) standards for Academic All-America voting. Nominees must be starters or important reserves with at least a 3.
