Jeremy Morgan’s long night of waiting Thursday didn’t lead to an NBA Draft selection, but the former Northern Iowa standout soon found another route.
Morgan signed as an undrafted free agent with the NBA champion Golden State Warriors and will join their summer league team, the UNI basketball Twitter account tweeted early Friday morning.
Morgan becomes the third Panther in the last three seasons to join the summer league as an undrafted free agent. Point guard Wes Washpun joined the Los Angeles Clippers after the 2016 draft and just finished his first season in the G League (formerly the NBA Developmental League), while former MVC player of the year Seth Tuttle joined the Miami Heat’s summer league squad after going unselected in 2015.
