DeKalb — After an 8-8 season in 2016, the wrestling team will open its season at Iowa State University for the Iowa State Open Saturday.
Head Coach Ryan Ludwig is entering his seventh season and he hopes follow the trail of success over the last few season and see improvement from everyone.
Ludwig said the team has been improving every year in finding scoring opportunities and executing on them. He also praised the team’s performance at the Red and Black Dual, a practice event where teammates face off against each other.
“The team was really confident out there going against each other [in the dual], even with the familiarity of each other,” Ludwig said.
