Women's soccer shuts out Green Bay

DeKALB — Women’s soccer won its second game in a row when they shutout the University of Green Bay-Wisconsin Phoenix Sunday in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

NIU (3-1-1, 0-0 Mid-American Conference) defeated the Phoenix (0-6) 3-0, behind goals from junior forward Taylor Sarver, senior midfielder Allie Ingham and sophomore midfielder Kelsey Chope.

With Sunday’s win, the Huskies won two of three games on their three-game road trip and are 3-1 on the road this year.

“[I] was really happy with our ability to create scoring chances,” Head Coach John Ross said. “It’s always great [to] put the ball in the back of the net, so we got three [goals] today [and] could’ve had a couple more but finishing our chances today was very positive.
