With a chance to move into first place Wednesday night, the Northern Illinois women's basketball team was blown out 109-86 at first-place Central Michigan.
The Chippewas (21-6 overall, 13-2 Mid-American Conference) led by as much as 28 in the first half,taking control from the start and never trailing against the Huskies (18-8, 11-4).
For NIU, it was the first time they've lost back-to-back games this year, and their first conference road loss of the season.
The Chippewas led 72-34 at halftime, scoring a school-record amount of points in the first half.
Central Michigan won the earlier meeting between the teams, 109-94 in DeKalb.
