Sophomore middle blocker Meg Wolowicz was named the Mid-American Conference's West Division Defensive Player of the Week Monday evening following an impressive weekend of blocking during the NIU Invitational.
“Meg had a big weekend at the net,” said coach Ray Gooden. “Her numbers were impressive and we’re happy for her and for the program to get some recognition after our first weekend of the season.”
The sophomore totaled 17 blocks in three matches, an average of 1.55 blocks per set that included eight solo stops, while also registering 24 kills. She finished with 36.5 points, the second-most by a Huskie in the tournament.
