A player's got some serious sway if he can dictate when spring football starts.
So is the case with Northern Illinois quarterback Drew Hare, who has spent the offseason recovering from a ruptured Achilles and who coach Rod Carey said is partially the reason why the Huskies are finally starting the spring football season on Tuesday morning.
The Huskie Bowl for this year is now scheduled for April 23 at 2 p.m. Last year, the Huskies opened up spring football on March 3.
However, by the end of the 2015 season, the Northern Illinois group of quarterbacks seemed like they could have had their own wing at the hospital.
