DeKALB – Now we begin to see if this Northern Illinois men's basketball team is for real.
Heading into their conference opener at home against Ohio on Wednesday, the Huskies are 11-2 and have given plenty of reason for optimism – even if the home attendance doesn't match their record, so far.
On Saturday, after the Huskies blew out Judson 91-48, they waltzed into Mid-American Conference play with a non-conference record that was a mixture of wins over legitimate teams and victories against squads of which I felt like I could have been their shooting guard.
The Huskies won't play any more Judsons the rest of the year.
