The season came to end for some of the Northern Illinois track team on Friday at the NCAA West Regionals in Lawrence, Kansas, with no Huskies qualifying for the national tournament.
The Huskies still have two individuals on Saturday looking to qualify for the NCAA tournament. The top 12 advance, but neither LeTristan Pledger in the 100-meter hurdles or Kedisha Dallas in the 200 dash are in the top 35 in seeding.
On Friday, Hope Schmelzle took 14th in the 3,000 steelplechase, finishing in 10:15.82. She was the closest Huskie, although Kelsey Hildreth took 16th in the 10,000 run in 34:55.
