DeKALB – The Northern Illinois softball dropped a heartbreaker to the Western Michigan Broncos on Friday at Mary M. Bell Field, losing 4-3 after giving up two runs because of errors in the top of the seventh.
The Huskies (27-12 overall, 8-4 Mid-American Conference) were up 3-2 late in the game when the Broncos (17-18, 8-3) rallied back to take the lead in their half of the seventh inning on errors committed by shortstop Kali Kossakowski and second baseman Bekah Harnish.
The errors came on the same play with two outs and runners on first and second base.
