Now comes the interesting part for the Northern Illinois women's basketball team.
After putting up eye-popping numbers on offense all season long, the Huskies are coming off their first stinker. They lost by nearly 30 and put up just 55 points against Akron on Wednesday – 22 less than the previous low and six points less than what they scored in the first half against Illinois State. They also shot a season-worst 33 percent, bricking 3-pointers all day.
The Huskies got open looks, they just missed them.
"That's so uncharacteristic of us offensively," said Northern Illinois coach Lisa Carlsen, whose team nowaverages 88.
