The first win of the season for the Huskies came with an offensive output of 506 yards, led by redshirt sophomore quarterback Daniel Santacaterina. The Huskies won wire-to-wire against the Eastern Illinois University Panthers 38-10 Saturday.
“I’m extremely pleased with the win, our hard work we put in as a team showed today in the outcome of the win,” Head Coach Rod Carey said.
The Huskies came out in the first quarter with Santacaterina, who threw 39-yard touchdown pass to Spencer Tears, redshirt sophomore wide receiver, to open up the scoring at 7-0.
After a fumble by the Huskies on a punt return from Chad Beebe, redshirt senior wide receiver, Eastern Illinois capitalized with a 20-yard field goal from redshirt senior kicker Nick Wilson.
